On October 13, 2016, one of the subjects of the Beijing Engineering Laboratory Innovation Cultivation Program was the development of new energy vehicle control system technology. IAT completed the development work and passed the acceptance test. The Development and Reform Bureau of Beijing Economic and Technological Development Zone was entrusted with the acceptance procedure, as requested by the Beijing Municipal Development and Reform Commission.

The Beijing Municipal Development and Reform Commission issued a tender for the project in early 2013. IAT actively applied for the project with its technical advantages in new energy vehicle control system, and finally received approval from the Beijing Municipal Development and Reform Commission on November 8, 2013, and successfully won the bid for the Beijing Engineering Laboratory of New Energy Vehicle Control System Technology's innovation cultivation program.

The project platform was finished after roughly a half-year of rigorous planning and two years of R&D and construction since September 2013. The vehicle management system (VMS) for pure electric vehicles, the range extender for electric vehicle electric control technology platform (APU-EMS), and the natural gas engine electric control technology platform are the three key technology platforms covered by the project (NG-EMS).

Amid the project acceptance process, the expert panel attended the project report hearing. It visited the product development laboratory as well as the three primary technology platforms. They believed that the experiment displayed technological advancements in the control system of new energy vehicles. The R&D findings have advanced to the advanced level of similar technology research in China, significantly improving the technological level and added value of domestic new energy vehicles.

The initiative has had a significant impact on the automotive industry's technological advancement and sustainable development, as well as on lowering pollution and boosting the green economy. The program's expected goal has been met. According to the project completion and approval provisions, the expert panel unanimously agreed to pass the acceptance.
