On March 25, IAT Auto hosted an AI product launch event in Shanghai themed "Converging Innovation, Creating Infinity," marking the official debut of its vertical AI-driven design tool "TAI." As the first AI-powered productivity tool focused on automotive styling design, "TAI" delivers an innovative solution to the industry through its advanced capabilities and specialized strengths. This milestone signifies the practical implementation of AI in vertical automotive design, ushering the sector into a new era of AI-driven technology.
With rapid advancements in AI technology, IAT has pioneered the integration of AI tools into automotive design. Leveraging over two decades of industry expertise and collaborations with partners such as NVIDIA and Tsinghua University’s Intelligent Industry Research Institute, the company developed "TAI"—a bespoke AI tool tailored for automotive applications.
"TAI" integrates five core functions: creativity palette, draft sketching, rapid shading, texture rendering, and ambiance enhancement. These features address critical challenges faced by automotive designers, including creative expression, workflow efficiency, and precision control. Trained by hundreds of designers and millions of design iterations, "TAI" demonstrates a profound understanding of professional design language and precise interpretation of design intent, delivering highly efficient and intelligent support to designers.
"TAI" demonstrates disruption in automotive design through five key advantages: end-to-end security, intuitive user experience, professional quality, high-efficiency output, and customizable service solutions. First, "TAI" ensures design, code, and data security by supporting localized, private cloud, and shared cloud deployment models. Flexible customization frameworks further address client concerns regarding data protection and long-term maintenance.
Second, its user-friendly interface and logical functionality minimize the learning curve, enabling immediate usability and operational efficiency. Third, leveraging IAT’s two decades of automotive design expertise, the tool’s training models encompass comprehensive scenarios—from conceptualization to mass production, exterior styling to interior detailing, and full-scale vehicle designs to component-level specifications. Fourth, trial tests confirm that "TAI" drastically reduces early-stage design cycles, delivering measurable efficiency improvements.
Additionally, "TAI" introduces specialized innovations catering to automotive designers. Its interface offers one-click "preset packages" spanning multiple design reference dimensions, simplifying AI prompt utilization and reducing trial-and-error efforts. The multi-view generation tool automatically generates complementary angles based on a single confirmed perspective. Future updates will introduce automated 2D-to-3D data conversion, ensuring seamless design coherence.
The built-in image comparison feature enables real-time visual analysis of design iterations, streamlining decision-making and refinement processes. Furthermore, "TAI" provides multi-language interface support and specialized presets for intricate components such as seats and lighting systems, meeting the exacting demands of professional designers.
During a roundtable workshop titled "AI Tools: Industry Adoption and Challenges—From Demand to Workforce Evolution," IAT highlighted that "TAI" is expanding beyond automotive design, with ongoing training for products including UTVs and tractors, underscoring its versatility across industries. Moving forward, "TAI" will extend its capabilities, offering AI-driven design solutions to a diversified array of sectors.
A senior IAT AI representative stated: "Rooted in our 'Automotive User Value-Product Attribute Large Model,' IAT has developed specialized models for automotive styling generation, product definition, design know-how, CAD automated generation, performance inversion simulator, and CAE analysis. Such features form the foundation for a suite of scenario-specific AI agents and algorithmic tools designed to innovate every phase of automotive R&D. TAI represents the first operational application within this framework, marking a significant milestone."
The release of "TAI" signifies both a technological leap in IAT’s AI applications and a strategic response to the automotive industry’s intelligent transformation. It also reflects IAT’s deep expertise in advancing AI-powered automotive design strategies. Looking ahead, IAT will strengthen partnerships to accelerate AI adoption in automotive design. With "TAI" as the cornerstone, the company will pursue AI advancements across wider fields, developing smarter, more efficient tools for global users through its commitment to "Efforts in Science for Better Cars."
