Recently, Gasgoo, together with leading suppliers in automotive technology and the low-altitude economy, visited the FAW-Volkswagen Changchun base to host the FAW-Volkswagen Innovation Forum and Advanced Technology Exhibition under the theme of “Innovation Gathering Momentum · Technology Leading the Way.”
Wang Shiyu, General Manager of IAT’s Styling Research Institute, delivered a keynote speech titled “Automotive Styling Trends and AI Empowerment in the New Competitive Landscape” at the Technology Innovation Forum, systematically outlining the evolution of automotive design trends and pathways for intelligent transformation, drawing broad attention.
In her speech, Wang noted that automotive styling design is undergoing a fundamental transformation: the value of design is shifting from “what it looks like” to “what users perceive and experience.” IAT elaborated on the breadth of this transformation from three dimensions: from recognition to innovation, from form shaping to experience creation, and from slogans to perceptible value.
From these three dimensions to three layers, a clear logical framework emerges: the essence of design is no longer to create a “visually appealing object,” but to build a multi-layered value system that users can progressively perceive—from instant recognition, to immersive atmosphere, to emotional resonance and brand reinforcement. This represents a shared challenge for automotive design in the new era.
In response to practical challenges such as diversified demand and compressed development cycles, IAT has developed its proprietary TAI AI platform, enabling “faster exploration, faster expression, and faster consensus.” At the early stage, the platform rapidly generates multi-directional design proposals; during the development phase, it supports multi-perspective visualization, 2D-to-3D conversion, and CFD analysis; meanwhile, a visualized workflow enables process traceability and team collaboration.
Wang emphasized that AI will not replace designers, but it will reshape workflows and optimize processes—helping teams quickly identify viable directions, translate judgments into outcomes, and reach consensus more efficiently. Meanwhile, brand understanding, user insight, and aesthetic decision-making remain irreplaceable.
At the conclusion of her speech, Wang summarized the core insights in three statements: users are increasingly not just looking at design, but recognizing value through it; design is no longer merely about form, but about making value more perceptible; and AI is no longer just an auxiliary tool, but a driving force that is transforming design from isolated creation into a more systematic, efficient, and collaborative approach.
As a company with over two decades of experience in automotive R&D and design, IAT continues to advance the intelligent evolution of design methodologies, represented by its Taiyi AI platform.
Its presentation at the FAW-Volkswagen Innovation Forum not only demonstrated IAT’s deep insight into industry trends, but also highlighted its commitment and capability to empower design with AI and redefine R&D paradigms. Looking ahead, IAT will continue to work with ecosystem partners to deliver more efficient and creative solutions for China’s automotive design industry.
IAT’s participation in the FAW-Volkswagen Innovation Forum goes beyond knowledge sharing—it represents a step toward deepening strategic collaboration, showcasing core AI technologies, and reinforcing its leadership position in the industry.
Through the systematic presentation of the Taiyi AI platform, IAT has conveyed a clear message to OEMs and industry stakeholders: the transition from a traditional design service provider to an AI-driven technology partner is accelerating. Moving forward, IAT will continue to use intelligent transformation as a driving force, working with ecosystem partners to advance automotive design toward greater efficiency and enhanced creativity.
